New Delhi: The Global Association of Forensic Accountants (GAFA) has launched the GAFA Forensic Learning Hub, a single platform that brings together forensic accounting, fraud investigation, cybersecurity, digital forensics and AI-based investigation.
The launch comes as financial and digital crime grows more complex. Investigators are now expected to work across accounting, technology, data and digital evidence, often within the same case.
An integrated approach to investigation
Traditional forensic accounting programmes focus mainly on financial records and fraud examination. The Hub instead covers the wider investigation lifecycle. Learners will be exposed to forensic accounting, financial fraud investigation, cyber-enabled fraud, digital evidence, AI-assisted investigation, data analytics and financial crime.
Learning built around practice and technology
The Hub emphasises hands-on, technology-enabled learning. GAFA's forensic learning infrastructure includes investigation labs, case-based exercises, and data analytics and AI-enabled tools. These are meant to show learners how technology is applied in real investigative scenarios.
Bridging academia and the profession
The Hub also aims to narrow the gap between academic learning and professional practice. GAFA is offering internship and research opportunities for students and early-career professionals, with exposure to forensic accounting, fraud investigation, financial crime and AI-enabled investigations.
Explaining the thinking behind the initiative, a GAFA representative said: "Investigations are no longer confined to accounting records. Financial evidence, digital evidence, technology and intelligence increasingly come together in the same case. The Forensic Learning Hub is designed to give learners exposure to this complete investigative environment."

Alongside its professional certifications and industry training, the organisation is increasingly incorporating AI, analytics and digital investigation techniques into its learning and research activities.
